Nightingales Carl Reich Bremen HMV B 390
Performed by Carl Reich · 3:32
First commercial recording of a nightingale, made by Carl Reich in Bremen in 1910. Used in the third movement of Ottorino Respighi's Pines of Rome composition. This file is a digitized copy of Gramophone B-390, which according to Discography of American Historical Recordings is the UK version of Gramophone R-6105, the recording Respighi specified. B-390 contains two recordings; the one titled "Actual bird record of a nightingale (no. 1)" seems to be the correct one in question. [ 1 ] [ 2 ]
